CBC St Kilda – Case Study

Christian Brothers College St Kilda has been known to Triathlon Victoria through their long-standing participation in the 2XU Triathlon Series. However, by their own admission, they lacked triathlon expertise within their staff to elevate their existing program to another level. It was here that the Tri2Gether program has provided support to CBC in a tailored fashion.

CBC operated the program in-house to the students, each Thursday before school. In addition, T2G Ambassador and local Steve Davis from Davey Black Triathlon Club, attends  3 – 4 sessions per term, to provide coaching on the finer points of the multisport. This relationship follows over to event day, where the CBC students are welcomed into the Davey Black Triathlon tent and given any support they need; be that getting checked in, a bike tire pump up or pre-race warm up.

“The Tri2gether schools program is a wonderful initiative from Triathlon Victoria. The school kids love to have a professional Triathlon Coach there to take them through the skills and fitness required to complete a triathlon, and the coaches enjoy having kids full of enthusiasm and excitement there soaking up every word. It’s a fun and easily accessible way for kids to be exposed to the inclusion sport of Triathlon” Steve Davis, Tri2gether Ambassador
