Lockdown restrictions to ease

Lockdown restrictions will be eased across Melbourne on Friday, however, several limitations will remain in place.

From 11:59 pm Thursday 10 June, the five reasons to leave home will no longer apply in metro Melbourne, and the existing 10-kilometre limit will be increased to 25 kilometres.

Wherever possible, the state government requests people to stay local. The only reasons to go further than 25 km is for work, education, care and caregiving, and vaccination.

Those living in the Melbourne Metro area are not permitted to travel into regional Victoria unless it is for permitted work or essential reasons.

In a blow for the Victorian sport and recreation industry, indoor physical recreation and sport remain closed. A full list of updates from today’s announcement can be found here.

A reminder to clubs and coaches about the importance of now using the Victorian Government’s QR Code Service to ensure that members and clients check in. It is mandatory for some sectors to use the Victorian Government QR Code Service – a full list can be found here.

Your club (or business) must have an active, up-to-date COVIDSafe Plan. Businesses that fail to do the right thing face significant fines.

Triathlon Victoria continues to work with governments agencies and the community recreation sector in advocation as it has done for the past 18-months.
